Resort Profile For Flims and Laax

A wonderful snow sure playground

The Flims-Laax-Falera ski resort, also known as the “White Arena” forms one of the largest ski areas in the Alps with 220km of pistes. The Crap Sogn Gion mountain dominates the resort, with the surrounding ski area offering a comprehensive range of slopes for all abilities.

The resort is made up of three separate villages, each traditional and with typical alpine charm. Falera lends itself more towards families and couples. Flims offers the feel of a more traditional Swiss resort, while Laax is better placed for access to the slopes.

The resort has been traditionally overlooked by UK skiers. However, this is changing as the “White Arena” has developed a reputation as one of “the” freestyler destinations.

Resort Pros

  • Variety and extent of the ski area – something for everyone.
  • Especially good for intermediates.
  • Lively, picturesque resort with good apres-ski.

Resort Cons

  • Can get very crowded at weekend.
  • The spread out nature of the resort can mean long walks or bus rides when out and about.

Best For

  • Families.
  • Mixed ability groups.
  • Boarders and Freestylers

Worst For

  • Non-skiers.
  • Those looking for alpine charm.

SlopeSeeker Tips

Avoid the queues at the main lifts first thing in the morning and last thing at night. If you don't, you will have a long wait!
