Resort Profile For Crans Montana
A bustling stylish resort surrounded by sunny slopes with stunning views
As it’s name suggests, Crans-Montana is made up of two towns – Crans and Montana. Both lack the feel of a traditional Alpine village but don’t let this put you off. Each centre has a typical sophisticated Swiss feel with plenty of stylish boutiques and good (if expensive) bars and restaurants.
he ski area is mainly suited to intermediates with a mix of long cruising runs with a sunny aspect and pretty tree-lined slopes. However, the sunny aspect can badly affect the quality of the snow, particularly later in the season.
Resort Pros
- An intermediate's paradise with plenty of long sunny slopes.
- Good nursery slopes.
- Lively, feel-good and family-friendly resort.
- Picturesque setting with stunning views.
Resort Cons
- The snow can suffer from the sunny aspect of the slopes.
- Most of the accommodation is a long walk or bus ride from the lifts.
- Limited on-piste for Advanced skiers.
Best For
- Intermediates.
- Non-skiers.
- Foodies
SlopeSeeker Tips
If conditions are favourable, plan a visit in March for great sun and the Caprices Festival of Music and Winter Sports.
