Resort Profile For Champéry

A pretty Alpine village with access to the extensive Portes du Soleil ski area

Champéry is a charming Alpine village at the foot of the Dents du Midi and the Dents Blanches mountains Two lifts take you up to the vast Portes du Soleil ski area which will satisfy skiers of all abilities with high, snow-sure runs and stunning views. However, beginners looking to ski the Portes du Soleil may be better served by Avoriaz as there are no suitable runs back to Champery.

Boarders are well served by the park at Les Crozats – rated as one of Europe’s best.

Resort Pros

  • Quiet, picturesque village.
  • Full of alpine charm.
  • Part of the vast and varied Portes du Soleil ski area with something for everyone.

Resort Cons

  • Despite the varied slopes of the Portes du Soleil, the pistes surrounding Champery are limited for beginners and advanced skiers.
  • There is only one, patchy red run back to the village so beginners have to queue for the lift.

Best For

  • Intermediates.
  • Mixed ability groups.

Worst For

  • Beginners.

SlopeSeeker Tips

During busy periods, head for the lift at Grand Paradis as your best access to the slopes.
