Resort Profile For Montgenèvre

A charming high altitude resort, often overlooked and relatively crowd free

Based on the edge of the Milky Way ski area, Montgenevre is a pretty, snow-sure resort, providing great skiing for beginners and intermediates. Advanced skiers have access to the extensive Milky Way ski area, although it is quite a trek to Sestriere area. The village is family friendly with a traditional ambience. Most accommodation is either close to the slopes or the lifts at either end of the village. Facilities are good with plenty of good value bars, cafes and restaurants – many of which are directly at the base of the nursery slopes. The resort used to suffer from heavy cross border traffic but this is now served via the Col di Tenda tunnel, transforming Montenevre from an often overlooked resort into an attractive, charming family destination

Resort Pros

  • Plenty of ski-in, ski-out.
  • Especially good for intermediate wth long cruising runs.

Resort Cons

  • Not ideally suited to explore the Milky Way (unless you have a car).
  • No really challenging runs.

Best For

  • Families.
  • Beginners.
  • Intermediates.

Worst For

  • Advanced skiers.
  • Party Goers

SlopeSeeker Tips

Beginners should head for the green from Gondrans into the village. Great run to build confidence.
