Resort Profile For Flaine
Great snow-sure ski area offing a variety of slopes
Flaine ski resort forms part of the Grand Massif ski area with access to over 265km of slopes – the fourth largest in France. Lying in a vast, snow-sure open snow bowl, it has a reputation for excellent snow and long cruising, intermediate friendly runs with a mostly sunny aspect. The resort itself is compact and purpose built, typical of most French resorts developed in the 1960s. The architecture divides opinion but don’t expect traditional alpine charm. Recent building has been far more sympathetic and many more skiers and boarders are being attracted to the area. There is plenty of ski-in/ski-out accommodation split across two levels. Flaine Forum has most facilities and a pedestrian centre making it ideal for families. Flaine Floret is linked by two funiculars which provide 24hr free access between the two villages.

SlopeSeeker Tips
Don't take the car. Flaine is pedestrianised and parking is expensive.
