Resort Profile For Soll

The main resort in the extensive SkiWelt ski area

Soll is a picturesque village situated at the base of the Hohe Salve mountain and flanked by the rocky Wilder Kaiser mountains, forming part of the extensive SkiWelt ski area. With 250km mainly long cruising pistes, it is an ideal base for beginners and cruising intermediates. The village is typically Tirolean with friendly, cosy feel. It has suffered with a reputation for rowdy nightlife but the resort has worked hard to attract more families and this policy in now paying dividends. Good deals on lift passes and a good range of accommodation has resulted in an ideal base families and couples. However, the village is situated 1km from the lifts so be prepared for to take the bus to the slopes.

Resort Pros

  • The variety and extent of the ski area - part of the SkiWelt, Austria's largest linked ski and snowboard area
  • Good value accommodation.
  • Charming village with great scenery.

Resort Cons

  • The lifts are a (free) bus ride away from the village.
  • Low altitude means the lower slopes can suffer from poor snow.
  • Crowded slopes during high season and weekends.
  • Limited challenging terrain.

Best For

  • Families.
  • Cruising intermediates.
  • Those on a budget.

Worst For

  • Advanced skiers.

SlopeSeeker Tips

Avoid the often dodgy run back to the village by getting the lift down.
