Resort Profile For Solden
Ideal if you ski hard and play harder
Solden ski resort in Austria may not the prettiest Tirolean village but if you look beyond the busy roads and sprawling layout of the accommodation, you will be pleasantly surprised by the quality of the skiing and the lively but friendly après-ski. Situated high up between two mountains and with access to two glaciers, Solden has guaranteed snow, magnificent views and large, varied ski area (150km). Particularly suited to intermediates it is also ideal for progressing beginners, while boarders are positively spoilt with the 6 hectare BASE Park. Popular with German skiers, you’ll find a good mix of affordable accommodation and relatively good value bars and restaurants – oh and of course, pumping clubs! If you prefer the quality skiing without the party scene, consider staying in Hochsolden (a traffic free area just above Solden) where you will find quieter ski-in/ski-out accommodation.
