Chamonix Resort Review

The extreme skiing capital of the Alps

A popular, traditional resort set at the foot of Mont Blanc. Chamonix has a reputation as the extreme skiing capital of the Alps. An off-piste paradise, the vast Chamonix Valley cuts through some of Europe’s highest mountains with massive vertical descents and breath taking scenery. The current snow conditions are available via the Chamonix webcams.

For those that prefer pisted slopes, the package is not so appealing. The ski area is spread over 5 separate areas with lots of stop start skiing and plenty of commuting between areas  - check the latest Chamonix Piste Map for up-to-date pistes and trails.

The resort itself is a busy all year round town with great shops, bars, restaurants and a lively après-ski scene. There is a good mix of accommodation spread across the Chamonix Valley with a huge choice of ski chalets, apartments and hotels.
