Air Berlin introducing new winter route

Air Berlin is introducing a new winter route linking London Stansted to Salzburg in Austria.
The airline announced that four weekly flights will be available from December 2nd this year to March 31st 2011, departing every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 2pm.
An Airbus A319 will be deployed on the route, providing the capacity to carry up to 144 passengers.
Air Berlin is anticipating the popularity of the new service among winter sports travellers by offering free transport for ski equipment, which it claims is in keeping with its commitment to offering "a full service at competitive rates".
Passengers will also receive an additional 20kg baggage allowance and complimentary snacks and drinks.
BA launches routes from London City to Chambery for 2010/2011 season

British Airways is extending its route network from London City Airport this winter with a new route to Chambery.
The service, by BACityFlyer, the wholly-owned subsidiary of British Airways, will operate four times a week from 18th December until the end of March 2011, using the airline’s fleet of brand new Embraer 190 aircraft.
Eurostar Tickets Go on Sale

Eurostar opened ticket sales for its direct day ski services from St Pancras International and Ashford International to the French Alps (Tuesday 13 July 2010). Return fares start from £149.
Eurostar provides weekly direct services calling at Moûtiers, Aime-La-Plagne and Bourg St Maurice – linking to many
ski destinations in the French Alps such as Courchevel, La Plagne, Tignes, Meribel, Les Arcs and La Rosiere.
Also, new this year, an extra item of luggage on top of the normal luggage allowance - such as a pair of skis or a snowboard - can be taken onboard at no extra cost.
Jet2.com launches new ski flights to Geneva from Edinburgh and Newcastle

Jet2.com has expanded its ski offering from Edinburgh and Newcastle with the launch of brand new services to Geneva for the 2010/2011 winter sports season.
The new services will operate during peak winter getaway times with Newcastle flights departing from 26thDecember to 9th January and then from 20th February to 27th March. The new Edinburgh service will operate from 20th February to 27th March. Flights are on sale now from just £29.99 one way including taxes.

Summer Skiing is Here!

FRANCE:
The glacier at Les Deux Alpes is the first to open with lifts operating from this Wednesday 16th June until Saturday 28th August 2010. Les Deux Alpes boasts the largest skiable glacier in Europe, with 11 lifts servicing approx. 110 hectares of ski area.
The Grande Motte glacier, reached via Tignes and Val d’Isere, is open from Saturday 19th June to Sunday 29th August 2010. Here you will find 20km of ski runs and a snow park, served by 12 lifts. Check out the Tignes Summer Skiing video on our home page!
AUSTRIA:
The Kitsteinhorn glacier accessed from the Kaprun and Zell am See ski resorts is open from the 19th June.
The Tux glacier is open through out the summer, with 25km of slopes and 9 lifts.
SWITZERLAND:
The glacier above Zermatt is open throughout the year.
The Allalinhorn glacier above Saas-Fee, is due to open later in June.
ITALY:
Val Senales is open from June 12th and Cervinia opens on June 26th.
